AGARTALA, June 7 (TIWN): In a major blow a 2 year old girl child died on Tuesday morning due to the alleged negligence in treatment by the doctors of the GB hospital

Doctors along with two nurses of state referral GB hospital have been accused of a child’s death on Tuesday morning.

The incident took place when the parents of the girl child brought her to hospital for treatment at GB on Monday late night with reports of fever but due to the negligence in treatment and lacklustre attitude by the doctors in providing treatment has claimed the life of the child.

The deceased infant is identified as Meghashree Das.

The mother of the infant alleged that due to the negligence of the doctor the infant died.

The death of the newly born baby boy at the state referral hospital created some tension after the family charged the authorities there of alleged negligence. The parents of the baby said that their daughter died due to the carelessness attitude of the doctors in providing treatment.

Relatives of the deceased baby girl and others gathered in front of the hospital on Tuesday morning and demand action against the doctor. Reportedly, the death of the 2 year old infant at GB Hospital due to the negligence of the doctor in providing treatment has sparked off a widespread resentment among relatives of the deceased as well common people. Angry people ransacked the hospital seeking immediate arrest of culprit doctor.

The relatives of the deceased alleged that after arriving at hospital, the doctors and the nurses avoided to treatment as the timing was not according to their duty hours even a bed was not provided to the victim. Even after several request the doctor did not show any interest to treat the doctor where as they were sleeping alleged relative of the deceased.  Angry relatives ransacked at the premises of the hospital to cater punishment of the accused doctor.

A pall of gloom descended over the family members with the unexpected death of the child.

The family member of the deceased infant alleged that the child due to the lack of treatment by the doctor and the infant died after the doctors did not provide any treatment to the child on Monday night and left her to die without treatment.

Agitated father Babul Das got into a scuffle with the police and demanded strict action against that accused doctor.

Getting alarm police reached the spot and after several hours of attempt the police bought the situation under control.

The body of the infant is handed over to the family members and police is further investigating the case.

It may mentioned that prevailing of unruly scenes have become a routine affair at the premier and referral hospital of the state  citing negligence of duties by nurses and doctors.
