AGARTALA, June 7 (TIWN): Among the 6 former congress leaders four of them gathered at assembly and handed over their official resignation from the congress party to assembly speaker Ramendra Chandra Nath.Former Congress leader Sudip Roy barman handed over the letter and similarly assembly speaker accepted their resignation.
Talking to TIWN correspondent, Former congress leader Asish Saha said that they have given official resignation from the party and they are have officially join TMC in presence of TMC Vice President Mukul Roy.However, he also said that Dilip Sarkar and Pranajit Singha Roy were not present during handing over the letter to speaker but have expressed their willingness to join TMC over the phone to Assembly speaker. However, question irks as the controversial characters of the new political game Dilip Sarkar and Pranajit Singha Roy has escaped the assembly March session in the name of health issues. Former Tripura chief minister Samir Ranjan Barman along with rebel Congress MLAs, including his son Sudip joined Trinamool Congress on Tuesday.

With the aim to rejuvenate the set up of the TMC party in the state, TMC General Secretary Mukul Roy arrived in the state on a one day visit.

As TMC Chief Mamata Banerjeee after winning a landslide victory in WB election Mamata Banerjee clamoured and said that “My next target is Tripura” however, with Mukul Roy’s arrival it seems that Mamata has started implementing her words. Several leaders from Tripura have established contact with her for the past few days.

With green signal from TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee, 6 of the former congress leaders have now officially joined TMC. The leaders are Sudip Roy barman, Asish Saha, Biswabandhu Sen, Diba Chandra Hrangkhawl, Dilip Sarkar, and Pranajit Singha Roy.

The much talked issue over former Congress leaders joining TMC is final as claimed by the top leader of former congress party.

It is to be mentioned here that Reportedly, PCC Chief Birajit Sinha suspended Former opposition leader Sudip Roy barman and former President of Tripura Pradesh Youth congress Sushanta Chowdhury from the party after they have resigned from their post raising voice against the alliance with left front.

Former Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman and Tripura Pradesh Youth congress Sushanta Chowdhury have already resigned from the party and in their resignation letter they have mentioned that the resignation letter has been submitted in protest of the unethical alliance between Congress and the Left Front in West Bengal Assembly Election.

Besides, they also mentioned that with this alliance the party has compromised with its values to form this alliance only to grab power and the hopes of the people of Tripura.
