UDAIPUR / PALATANA, June 1 (TIWN): Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Thermal Power plant of Palatana- a joint venture of ONGC and Tripura ( OTPC) is a dream project of the entire North Eastern region for being the biggest of it's kind in the NE region with a full capacity of 726.6MW. This is probably one of the very few projects in India with which the names of two Prime Ministers namely Dr Manmahon Singh and Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukharjee are associated as far as laying of the Foundation Stone or inaugural programmes are concerned . But going against the interests of ONGC and OTPC, a senior official of OTPC, Vice President Sudin Chattopadhay is now involved with deep rooted corruption and as such OTPC seems to have turned out a personal property for nepotism, corruption. As a result there is massive resentments brewing among a large section of employees from technical to management cadres.VP Sudin appointed his wife Dr Rina Chattopadhyay as the OTPC Chief Medical Officer, in-law Aravinda Maitra as OTPC Head of Security, close friend G. Ezhilarasan as Head of OTPC Fire Safety violating ethics and regulations.

More importantly, OTPC Palatana is World's biggest and India's first Green Plant.

Sudin Chattopadhyay is the Vice President (VP) of OTPC - head of this 726.6MW plant located at Palatana, Tripura .

Ever since his appointment  more than six or seven months before Vice President Sudin Chattopadhyay has been doing everything to the best of his abilities to provide a huge amount of money every month to his relatives and close aids depriving the efficient persons living in Tripura . 

Soon after his appointment he has appointed his wife Dr Rina Chattopadhyay as the Chief Medical Officer of OTPC completely violating agreement OTPC made with Tripura .

As per the agreement framed during the tenure of S K Dube as CMD and Mukul Banerjee as General Manager it was decided that for the recruitment in  posts in non-technical segment preference will be given to those of Tripura . But while appointing his wife Sudin violated this agreement going against the most of the officials posted in Palatana plant .

Moreover , his relative Aravind Maitra ( learnt to be from his in-laws) has been appointed as the Chief of Security Staff. Aravind has retired from the post of Brigadier .

Again , Sudin's friend G. Ezhilarasan was recruited, then his wife Dr. Rina Chattopadhay as the Head Of medical services in OTPC , Palatana, his relative Aravinda Maitra as head of Security, he is a retired bergadier. Now his friend Mr G. Ezhilarasan , as Head of Fire Safety . No one can say anything in public as Sudin Chattopadhyay has been directly recruited by OTPC .

At the same time Sudin's behaviour too is causing much harassment for the employees in general . Only a few days before Sudin forced an aged driver to go through a punishment, which is even banned in primary schools , as he didn't simply  tie the seat belt . At this the aged driver felt quite insulted but didn't utter a single word for fear of getting retrenched .

A highly placed TIWN  source in OTPC told this correspondent  ," We are simply going through an atmosphere of panic and anxiety because of his unbearable attitude . But inspite of knowing everything ONGC top brass in Tripura are doing nothing . "  If such irregularities are going on at any time a chaotic situation may arise .
