AGARTALA, May 25 (TIWN) : Although the India Govt. is giving 100 MW power to its neighbouring country B’desh, via Tripura, but the state Tripura itself is suffering from poor power connection, with the blessing of the TSECL administration.

In many backward places of Tripura, especially the tribal areas, no electrical post has been set there also.

Although the cities are decorated with lights and almost less affected from load-shedding but as far as the urban and interior parts are concerned, students are the worst sufferer.

The lines whichever are provided there at ADC and rural areas, are not given in proper manner, resulting in frequent load-shedding after a slight rain.

According to the report, once the power is gone due to some slight rain and thunders, it takes atleast 2-3 days to recover. The power dept. workers come and repair the lines temporarily, but again with the hit of waves the power goes away.

Reportedly, in many schools, the students who are appearing for board examinations are frequently facing the load-shedding problems due to the poor connections of electrical lines. For example Poang Bari at Manughat, Marichara school under South Tripura, the schools at Killa, under Gomati District, many schools at korbook under Gomati Dist., and tribal hostel based schools at Rupaichari and many other Christian & Hindu Missionary schools at Tripura are the common endure of such problems.

In study hours students are found to study by sticking candles on their benches at evening, however at early morning also, the scenario is  same.

The local people are also the sufferer and the students who are giving exams from homes are the victim of the same problem.

Another example of TSECL’s blessing is a 50 seated boys hostel has been made at an ADC area for North Maharanipur, under Teliamura Subdivision. The project for hostel construction costs atleast 1.5 crores, whereas the work begins before 2 years.

However, the building has been made before more than 9 months, as claimed by the contractor, but the facility of power is yet from the location. As the tribal areas generally faces power crisis and most of the time villagers spend their daily lives without power, so TSECL has no concern to uplift the hostel too, with proper power connectivity.

The regular problem across ADC Villages with power-supplying has become as an obstacle to inaugurate the hostel-building too.

So, in Manik’s golden era, where Tripura is becoming popular outside the state and country for its power supplying to neighboring country, on the other hand state itself is suffering from power crisis.
