UDAIPUR, May 24 May(TIWN): Senior journalist of Syandan Daily Newspaper , a correspondent of ShantirBazar, Shyamalendu Pal today committed suicide in his own residence setting fire in his body . He was 65 years and survived by his wife, his only son and a daughter . The incident occurred at around 11 in the morning when no body was present in his house .
Neighbours informed Udaipur Fire station but when the fire fighters rescued him and took to Gomati District hospital , doctors declared him dead .
Shyamalendu Pal was one of the founder members of Udaipur Press Club . He was Syandan Patrika's Shantir Bazar correspondent as well as All India Radio's Belonia correspondent . Hearing the news Editor of Syandan Patrika Subal Dey rushed to Udaipur and met his family members expressing deep condolence.
State BJP Vice-President Subal Bhowmik too rushed to the hospital and sympathised with his bereaved family. Speaking to TIWN Subal Bhowmik said ," Shyamalenduda was my unfailing friend and truly a good human being. I am deeply saddened at his death. South Tripura lost a senior press person ." Tripura Journalist Union's Gomati District Committee Secretary Dilip Datta too expressed derp condolence at the sudden demise of Shyamalendu Pal .
