UDAIPUR, May 24 (TIWN): For last two consecutive days Gomati District Hospital of Udaipur is running out of drinking water . Angry patients and neighbours of Tepania blocked the NH 44 on Sunday morning in protest against this . After one and half hour this blockade was withdrawn after the assurance from the administration. Simply because of CPI-M party's negative attitude the patients coming to this district hospital for treatment are suffering for drinking water . It is really shameful for the state Gov't and its health department that even after more than two years there is no permanent drinking water facilities in the District Hospital . It is to be mentioned here that the Gomati District Hospital was inaugurated by the Mr Clean Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in the year 2012 amidst massive protests from the common people of Udaipur .

It is to be mentioned here that Radhakishorepur MLA of Congress party Pranajit Singha Roy sanctioned Rs 5 lakh for the construction of a permanent Drinking Water Tank in Gomati District Hospital . But due to petty negative political reasons the fund sanctioned for this was returned back even before it was handed over to the implementing department .

Speaking to TIWN on this issue on Monday night  R K Pur MLA Pranajit Singha Roy told ," It is really very unfortunate that politics is causing problems in the development . As usual I wrote to SDM Udaipur to construct a permanent Drinking Water Tank in Gomati District Hospital . Accordingly I told the SDM Udaipur to transfer Rs 5 lakh to the R D Department , the implementing agency. But showing a petty reason this fund was returned back . This is nothing but petty politics. Had this fund been utilized the patients would not have to suffer for drinking water . "

 MLA Pranajit Singha Roy also alleged that the carelessness of Drinking Water and Sanitation Department is responsible for this problem . He further added ," Even DWS Minister Ratan Bhowmik cannot take the responsibility away from him for this intentional and deliberate attempt of deprivation imposed on the patients . If Ratan Bhowmik sincerely did instruct his department to construct the water tank  forgetting political boundaries the patients would get regular drinking water as one can easily imagine Rs 5 lakh is not at all a little amount for this purpose . "

He presents some more instances in which negligence of the DWS Minister Ratan Bhowmik is clearly visible . He expressed shock when he came to know that the Drinking Water Tank constructed in Udaipur Ramesh Higher Secondary School is not functioning yet. MLA said ," This is nothing but irresponsibilities from a department of which the Minister hails from Udaipur. Funds sanctioned from MLA funds are not his personal property but these funds are meant for the development of MLA's constituency irrespective of any political identities . The water tank in Ramesh H S School has been constructed more than three months before but DWS department is yet to give connection of water pipe line to this tank built for the interests of more than 1200 students reading in this prestigious school". 

Again another water tank has been built in Village Sonamura area under the R K Pur Assembly Constituency. Yet this too is not functioning simply because the funds for this tank were sanctioned from MLA fund of Pranajit Singha Roy of Congress .

 It is to be mentioned here that DM Gomati Sonal Goel is the Governing Body Chairman of Gomati District Hospital by virtue of her post. But she seems to be quite oblivious of the sufferings of the patients coming here for treatment. Very often power of this hospital remains cut off without any prior information .

It is really unfortunate that CPI-M Party's Gomati District Office avails 24 hours uninterrupted power supply having the emergency connection installed in this office of political VVIPs. But the District hospital does not have such connection .

And DM Gomati very shamelessly remains busy in promoting her as a messiah of development through her Facebook Page' Sonal Goel IAS Fan Club ' and utilizing a section of her puppet media . But towards the irregularities being going on in the district hospital with the lack of minimum basic requirements being neglected Sonal Goel seems to remain completely blind.
