AGARTALA, May 15 (TIWN): With the aim to join army, thousands of youths on Sunday gathered at Badarghat stadium to run for their selection in the army.

Thousands of youth appeared at the Badarghat stadium, where Army conducted first phase of recruitment rally for the candidates from Tripura into Indian Army.  

With the aim to join army thousands youths participated in the rally.  This time preference was given to the youths of Tripura however, youths from Assam, Silchar will also participate in the rally.

Reportedly, those who will qualify the written exams well as the physical test they will get job in the army. There is no assurance how many will be given jobs from this sections.

It is to be mentioned here that with the aim to join army a total of 1200 youths participated in the rally last time.  Keeping the words of CM Manik Sarkar for opening opportunities to the youth of Tripura, enrolment in army has began in the state.

The Indian Army is the land-based branch and the largest component of the Indian Armed Forces. The President of India serves as Supreme Commander of the Indian Army, and it is commanded by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), who is a four-star General. Two officers have been conferred the rank of Field marshal, a Five-star rank, which is a ceremonial position of great honour.

The Indian Army originated from the armies of the East India Company, which eventually became the British Indian Army and finally the national army after independence. The units and regiments of the Indian Army have diverse histories and have participated in a number of battles and campaigns across the world, earning a large number of battle and theatre honours before and after Independence.
