AGARTALA, May 12 (TIWN): Along with the crippled roads, stinky roads add much more woes to the common people. City stinks; road side dumped with garbage, yet no initiative taken to clean the mess on the city roads.

The main junction of the city Battala market stinks due to dumping garbage.

Though the garbage bins are being cleaned by the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC), it has been reported that accept the garbage bins the rest of the area are not cleaned and there is no regularity in cleaning the garbage.

Similarly, the interior part of the Maharajganj bazaar also stinks due to piles of garbage in the market area.

“The garbage gets piled up regularly. After the waste is cleared, a few people come and dump it again, and during the night, hotels and a few eateries also dump waste in open sites. Due to which it stinks at the area” claimed a local.

It is to be mentioned here that concern is mounting again among residents of the city over piles of unclear garbage in several areas.

People complained that despite of informing this matter to the concern authority, no initiatives has been taken to bring the unhygienic and stinky surroundings under control of the Battala and MG Bazaar.

They further claimed that though the AMC truck cleans the garbage bins regularly but no initiatives are being taken to clean the other parts of the roads or the area.

The area smell very bad as various dumped vegetable items get decomposes in the area as they are not cleaned on time.

However, proper initiatives must be taken to bring the stinky smell under control so that people can move through the area without any harassment.
