AGARTALA, May 9 (TIWN): As an aftermath of CPI-M and congress alliance for the WB election, congress party in Tripura is standing on the verge of extinction after the Party has suspended former CLP leader Sudip Roy Barman along with his protégé Sushanta Choudhary from the Party. It is to be mentioned here that following the suspension of the senior leaders from congress, the district congress has also resigned from their posts and have raised voiced against the suspension of leaders. Rebel party workers on Saturday ransacked Congress Bhawan in Agartala in protest against AICC's decision to suspend party MLA Sudip Roy Barman who was allegedly involved in anti-party activities. The unruly protesters broke chairs, window shields, television sets, computer, fax machine and other materials besides attacking the posters of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi with shoes terming them traitors.Seeing the activities of the unruly leader’s security is tightened in the state in front of congress Bhawan to avoid any untoward incident. Apart this alliance is a question to the society as there can’t be alliance where there is no similarity.

It is to be mentioned here that To fight against Mamata in west Bengal, the CPI (M), in an effort to form a secular and democratic alliance against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and BJP, made it clear that it would consider if an offer comes from the Congress which reveals that they will not approach to the parties for alliance thereby pushing the ball in the court of Congress.

Both CPI-M and congress has different ideology and strategy.

With the clamour for forging an alliance with Congress, majority of CPI (M) state committee members have spoken in favour of either an alliance or an electoral pact with Congress by stating extraordinary situation demands historic decisions.
