AGARTALA, May 8 (TIWN): After PCC Chief Birajit Sinha has suspended its senior opposition leader of Tripura Sudip Roy Barman and 14 youth leaders for anti-party activities the party supporters have created a mayhem across the state by burning effigies, holding protest rallies, raising slogans and others similar activities. It is to be mentioned here that after the announcement of the suspension, their angry supporters ransacked the party headquarters on Saturday and vandalised furniture, computers and other property and again the party supporters on Sunday burnt the effigies of PCC Chief Birajit Sinha and Rahul Gandhi in front of Udaipur congress Bhawan. Protesting against the Congress' electoral tie-up with the Left in West Bengal, many top Congress leaders, including Barman, who is the legislature party leaders and leaders of opposition in the assembly, quit their posts last month.It is to be mentioned here that in a mayhem staged by congress supporters on Saturday last.

Reportedly, the president of Sadar congress committee president Balai Goswami along with other members on Sunday in a press meet at press club raise voice against the decision of alliance with left parties along with the suspension of the senior leaders, and later resigned from the party.

 At least four Congress workers and two journalists were injured when the agitated party members ransacked the party office here even as a huge police contingent led by senior police officials have rushed to the spot and controlled the situation. 

Huge security is deployed in front of the Congress Bhawan to avoid any untoward incident.

It is to mentioned here that according the Sudip roy Barman and Sushanta Chowdhury this move of forging an alliance with the CPI-M has completely ruined the prospect of the Congress party in Tripura wherein innumerable number of Congressmen have been murdered and subjected to immense oppression during the twenty-three years of left rule.

Besides, they also mentioned that with this alliance the party has compromised with its values to form this alliance only to grab power and the hopes of the people of Tripura.

It is to be mentioned here that earlier, Sudip Roy Barman, Ashish Kumar Saha and Sushanta Chowdhury has resigned from their post protesting against the alliance of the party.

In the meantime, TPCC President Birajit Sinha said that it is totally a decision of particular person that they are interested to work for the party or not.
