Panda returns State : Workshop on Sensitization on national skill qualification framework held

AGARTALA, May 6 (TIWN): A one day long workshop on Sensitization on national skill qualification framework was organised by Directorate of skill development under department of industries and commerce in association with National skill development agency at Prgana bhawan on Friday.

The program was inaugurated by CS YP singh, Nagaraju Maddirala, Secretary of Industry, Health,Dept, former CS SK Panda and others also remained present in the inagaural program.

The National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF) is a competency-based framework that organizes all qualifications according to a series of levels of knowledge, skills and aptitude. These levels, graded from one to ten, are defined in terms of learning outcomes which the learner must possess regardless of whether they are obtained through formal, non-formal or informal learning.

National Qualifications Framework is a formal system describing qualifications. 47 countries participating are committed to producing a national qualifications framework. Other countries not part of this process also have national qualifications frameworks.

Under NSQF, the learner can acquire the certification for competency needed at any level through formal, non-formal or informal learning. In that sense, the NSQF is a quality assurance framework. Presently, more than 100 countries have, or are in the process of developing national qualification frameworks.

The NSQF is anchored at the National Skill Development Agency (NSDA) and is being implemented through the National Skills Qualifications Committee (NSQC) which comprises of all key stakeholders. The NSQC's functions amongst others include approving NOSs/QPs, approving accreditation norms, prescribing guidelines to address the needs of disadvantages sections, reviewing inter-agency disputes and alignment of NSQF with international qualification frameworks.

Tripura on Friday witnessed a rare event  of how an official can degrade himself  from the rank of  former Union Textiles Secretary, also former Chief Secretary S.K.Panda now will be working under his junior IAS Officer Industry Secretary M.Nagaraju.

Panda has chosen the post-retirement job of vice-chairman of skill development mission, so it is assumed that more Oriya people will be imported to fill up Tripura Govt jobs.
