TIWN

AGARTALA, May 5 (TIWN): With the onset of summer season, the major issue of power crisis along with water crisis has hit the state.

Agitated villagers residing at Ambassa Neilafa area on Thursday stormed the streets and staged road blockade on NH44   road disrupting the traffic movement for hours.

Failing to get the supply of water and power cut since past one week in the area the localites again blocked the road on Thursdaydemanding continuous flow of water supply and to resume power connection in the area.

Huge resentment sparked off in the area following the power cut over past 15 days.

Despite of several tall claims by the ministerial authority of the state saying that with the commencement of Palatana and with the extension hand of the other power plants of the state, Tripura will be a load-shedding Free State, till day the civilians are facing unscheduled load shedding frequently.

Where the State Government claims to make the capital a smart city on the other hand they fails to provide the basic necessity that is a load shedding Free State. The people of the capital where has to face prolonged hours of load shedding, in the interior parts there are people who are continuing their life in dark for several days.

Allegedly, Tripura is facing serious load-shedding problem due to drop of supply from within state. Life and business has been largely affected due to power cuts enforced for hours every day.

Load shedding in Tripura has made life miserable as Tripura’s own power generation is down to its half of total capacity during past few days. Most areas of the city are facing load shedding of at least one to two hours per day. As a result the life of people has become miserable here in the State.

It is to be mentioned here that the people of same locality have been continuously complaining about water crisis and power disruption in the area.

A protester alleged that the people of the area have suffering from water crisis for past many days but the authority never took any initiative to solve the crisis of water.

However, finally on Thursday the agitated localites of the area staged a road blockade and demanded regular supply of drinking water in the area.
