Even many parts of the Headquarters of Gomati and South Tripura- Udaipur and Belonia- too reels under power cut after cyclone storm hit the state on Sunday evening. The linemen are busy but it seems an up heal task for them to restore electricity supply to most parts of these two districts. But majority of the people living in these two districts remain without electricity . Places like Killa , Bagma, Maharani , Dhwajanagar, Gokulpur, Mirza, Kakraban, Pitra , Maharani of Udaipur , Dalak, Malbasa, Moilak of Amarpur, Chelagang, Nutan Bazar, Ampi, Karbook, MandirGhat, Damboor under Karbook subdivisions are without power. In many parts of ShantirBazar, JolaiBari, Baikhora, Satchand, Hrishyamukh, BirchandraManu, UttarBharatchandra Nagar, Harina, SriNagar of Belonia, ShantirBazar and Sabroom subdivisions power supply was not restored till Monday night. Most of the offices of TSECL in these two districts too remain cut off from the common people as no one received the phone calls and even in most offices whenever someone tries to make a call, its says ' busy'.
Actually TSECL staffs themselves took this step to avoid receiving harsh words from consumers.
Tripura is having dual Manik's regime - to be precise two Maniks - Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and Power Minister Manik Dey.
Whenever they open mouth it seems as if Tripura is having its brightest days in all respects in golden era, cunningly expert in hiding all deficiencies.
TSECL is having various problems and lack of man power is one of its biggest problems for many years yet the Manik Sarkar's govt and Manik Dey's department do not seem to be interested to recruit skilled staffs to improve power supply condition. As a result whole of Tripura suffering.
However, on Monday evening the people living under municipal areas of Udaipur, some parts of Amarpur and Belonia power got power supply.
The poor situation of power supply in Tripura has been beautifully depicted by a top level TSECL official, who told TIWN ," What can we do in this situation ? We don't have adequate number of staffs nor do we have skilled management to deal with such situation . Yet, the staffs especially the linemen are trying their best. If everything goes well I think power supply will become normal by Tuesday evening. However, the situation may worsen if another cyclone hits . "
The fact is majority of the people got electricity after 24 hours but no one knows when it will be cut off.
But though TSECL hopes to revive the situation by Tuesday , many say that it is impossible to repair the damage even by Wednesday.
Tripura CM and Power Minister Manik Dey, both are tight-lipped about the clearing pending bills over Rs 400 crores bills to power plants NEEPCO, OTPC.
In other words, Tripura people undergoing massive sufferings due to deacdes of mismanagement of Manik Sarkar & Co.
