SANTIRBAZAR, April 29 (TIWN): Grambling continues in many parts of Santirbazar Sub Division. Many families are badly affected and even penniless .Many educated employees, Auto Drivers; Unemployed youths have become the victim of such gambling acts. Teer Game are common in place like Baikhora, Kalma, Jolaibari, Kalashi, Debadru, Latuatilla Alashya Bazar, Mhuripur.
Gamblers found their shelter in many hidden places and earns money from those poor local people of Santirbazar Sub Division. Teer Agents call their customers after 11 AM daily to sale their tickets.
First round result is announced at 4.30 pm daily and second round result announces at 5.30 pm. In this way gamblers extend their network throughout Santirbazar Sub Division.
Local people of Birchandra Manu Bazar expressed their concern about gambling activities in the market. Source said that gambling business is going on at full swing in the market disregarding the administration of Santirbazar subdivision.
According to sources tailor of Birchandramanu Bazar Nirmal Debnath is continuing party of teer and gambling in his shop for long time. Local people alleged that Nirmal is tempting the youths with assurance of giving Rs 400 in exchange of Rs.10 and he is earning lakhs of rupees by making the youths motivated.
Local administration is sleeping over the issue and they are also indirectly earning black money. But administration failed to take any action against them. The local people lost their faith on administration.At the same time police administration is releasing the gamblers from the spot or bringing them in the police station as an eye wash after political pressure by local CPI-M leaders, sources said.
