AGARTALA, April 29 (TIWN): Chief Secretary Y.P.Singh reviewed the status of railway projects in Tripura at a high level meeting with railway officials on Thursday. Transport Secretary Samarjit Bhowmik, NFR officials were also present in the meeting.
After the review meeting it was decided there are few problems in Silchar Agartala BG track as far as Railway Signal is concerned.
Chief Engineer (Construction), NFR Harpal Singh expected to run First BG Train in the month of May-June 2016.
Singh said a total of 17 teams have been performing BG conversion works at 43 locations of 17 km track from Karimganj to Kumarghat. The BG conversion work carried out in two phases.
As per the deadline, BG conversion work upto Agartala station already completed and the NFR is doing its best to complete the project within the stipulated time.
However, the State Government requested them to complete the entire work at the earliest.CM Manik Sarkar shows his anger over the Development of Railway connectivity.
An amount of Rs 5,338 crore has been allocated in the current fiscal for development of railway infrastructure in the North East, with initiatives to develop railway infrastructure and connectivity to all State capitals of the region.
