AGARTALA, April 25 (TIWN): The price hikes in vegetable markets in the summer spell is affecting the normal lives here.
Whereas in summer public prefer more vegetables rather than non-veg items, so they thronged to the market in the morning hours.
But in every objects of vegetable market, where they touch is tagged by skyrocketing prices seem to be disrupting household budgets for over a month this summer.
Fewer arrivals to the wholesale market and increasing freight charges were attributed to the rising cost of the vegetables.

Bitter gourd-80 Rs. / Kilo,
Lady Finger—50 Rs. / Kilo,
Bitter melon—80 Rs. / Kilo,
Ridge gourd -40 Rs./ Kilo,
Potato-15-25 Rs. / Kilo
Beans, carrot and broad beans are among expensive vegetables. One kg of beans, which is priced at Rs.40 in the wholesale market, is sold for Rs.45 to Rs. 46 in the retail stores. Carrots and broad beans are sold for Rs.35 in the retail market.
