AGARTALA, April 18 (TIWN): CPI-M, Congress here created unnecessarily violence on Monday during strike hours, when the common people were observing the 24 hour’s strike peacefully. Only Govt. officials and few others went to their offices and the strike got a mixed response, but CPI-M at major towns started to bang the shutters of various shops to keep business open. Congress workers sported their hooligan skills by tire burning, in spite of absence of clashes, Cong hooligans started to throw stones into running vehicles. Then police came down to action and arrested many Cong rowdies which are nothing but ‘Drama’ enacted by political groups to create unwanted tensions among masses and to ‘SELL’ the story of Cong/CPI-M bitter relation in Tripura. Whereas Cong.’s strike was expected to be a major flop show, but then on Monday morning, CPI-M organized bike rallies in many places of the state and allegedly asked the businessmen to withdraw strike, which created a tension among the common people.Cong and CPI-M on Monday had started this new drama by showing external clashes between these two parties.Even though PCC President Birajit Sinha boasted having a rally of 2000 people during strike at Agartala but not even 50 members walked in his rally, which marked the strike as flop as other than cities like Agartala, Udaipur, Kailashahar hardly any response was visible.

Congress strike was expected to get mixed or little response but  untoward situations were created by both parties (CPI-M & Congress), which had put the people into trouble during office hours and unnecessarily tension was created among the common people.

Reportedly,Congress, CPI-M held tire burning ‘festival’ in many places at Agartala : Kaman Chowmuhani, North Gate, Shanitala. However, during the Shanitala (at Math Chowmuhani) tire burning activities police arrested the Congress picketers. 

Many cars were damaged as per the report. Such incidents repeated in every subdivisions of the state.

Congress held  ‘Strike DRAMA’ raises these questions :

1. How in every subdivisions manual clashes can occur and no one seriously injured in CPM, Congress ?
2. How come CPI-M & Congress together came close in same time in every subdivisions?
3. How the bike rallies organized in such a way that Congress, CPI-M doesn’t come fat to face in major towns ?

At Agartala, as per the latest reports Addl SP Sharmistha Chakraborty led Tripur Police arrested many Cong. Goons and released after few hours. 

Needless to say, poor people, daily wage earners like tea shops, rickshaw pullers, auto drivers, daily wage laborers are ultimate sufferers as they are likely  to remain starved on this day as Congress, CPI-M snatched one day’s of earning from their life.
