AGARTALA, April 15 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident, fire gutted around five shops on Friday early morning at Ranir Bazaar. According to the sources, about two fire engines rushed to the spot to bring the fire under control. Though there are no reports of any casualties, fire on Friday morning gutted property worth lakhs. However, Tripura police rushed to the spot and investigating about the main reason of the fire. The control room got a call about the blaze following which two fire tenders were immediately rushed to the site. Efforts were on for more than one hour to douse the flames; adding that the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained. However, police suspects that the incident may have taken place due to short circuit. Major fire broke out in the shops which have gutted five shops. Life came to stalled when massive fire broke out in the shops as the many other shops are attached and the fire took bad shape in the area.Reportedly, the incident took place in the early when a localite of the area witnessed smoke spreading wide from the shop and flames rising high and immediately called people around for help.Preliminary investigation says that the fire broke out in the shop from short circuit and with the wind has spread the fire. Getting alarm about the fire incident huge police force along with two fire service crew reached the spot and after several attempts brought the fire under control.
Fortunately the fire fighters reached the spot on time and contained the fire that prevented the flames to spread to the other parts of the area.
