AGARTALA, April 13 (TIWN): Preparation on the peak to welcome the New Year 1423 according to the Bengali calendar across Tripura.
People are carrying lord Ganesh’s idols to their shops, huouse-holds with the hope for a better New Year.
But public still busy in buying new clothes, and the exchanges sweets and pleasantries among friends and acquaintances has been started.
Bengal-Hindus throughout Tripura and also other places of India are just ready to celebrate the new year with the year-end or 'Chaitra Sankranti' with some exciting fairs and festivals like Gajan and Charak.
However, for businessmen the Ganesh Puja is very important as every year with new hopes they set the idol of Ganesh in their business centres.
Ganesha is one of the most popular deities in the Hindu pantheon. He is closely associated with the daily lives of millions of Hindus even today. As he is reputed to be a remover of obstacles he is propitiated before the beginning of any new venture whether it is the building of a new house, the writing of a book, the beginning of a journey or the starting of a new business. His images adorn the walls of innumerable business establishments across India.
Scholars, both mythical and historical, explain that this is so because, before undertaking to do the work, Ganesha stipulated that the dictation should never falter and that he should, at all times, be able to understand what was being said. So before new year across Tripura the Gnaesh Puja is also observing.
