KAMALPUR, April 9 (TIWN): The so-called and widely trumpeted dynamic administration of Manik’s ‘golden regime’ virtually ceased to reduce public sufferings here at Kamalpur. Rather, the sufferings of the commoners increased a lot regarding the registration of deeds for more than a month. It resulted as the registration of deeds virtually ceased here, alleged the commoners.

According to the allegation of the commoners, the registration of deeds virtually collapsed here from last one month. The deed writers of the sub-division also alleged the same. As a result people from different part of the sub-division had to come in the office in search of their deed’s registration and returned without any work.

It might be mentioned here that, during the inauguration of the new building in 2005, the Chief Minister Manik Sarkar trumpeted in the inaugural speech that this office would put smile in the faces of people when they return from the office as they came crying. But the situation now got completely opposite at the present situation.

Replying to why the matter worsened to such an extent, the STO Amaresh Barman said over telephone that, the situation worsened as the only trained contractual staff to entry the data in the computer resigned from her job in February.

Now they have no trained staff and as a result, in the month of March only two days could be scheduled to register the deeds as the department had no trained staff now. He further assured that, the present staff had undergone training at Ambassa recently. It would remedy the problem. Further they would appoint an expert in the field shortly.

However, why the department could not provide the unrestrained service to people it remained a question here among the commoners.
