AGARTALA, April 7 (TIWN) : In a major jolt to political scenario in Tripura, the opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman shocked Tripura Assembly with his sudden resignation as Opposition leader from Assembly. While putting the resignation to the speaker Ramendra Ch Debnath, he told the assembly gatherings that he has gone into a wrong path and did mistake to recognize the true Cong friends as Congress leadership aligned with CPI-M. Slamming the CPi-M party he said that whatever propaganda, political manipulation CPI-M is doing should never be accepted by Congress. He also said the Cong. and CPI-M alliance is no way possible ethically, also added whatever has been done for the sake of WB election and throughout Kerala is not at all acceptable to any true Congresman. He has also faxed the letter to the Congress president Sonia Gandhi about his resignation. However, with the shocking news, skeptic criticisms are churning out from many corners that Sudip Barman may join Trinamool Congress so he has enacted today’s pre-planned drama. Evidence says that in the month of February, a three member TPCC leadership led by Leader of Opposition Sudip Roy Barman during their visit to West Bengal held meeting with TMC MP Mukul Roy. However, it’s worthy to mention here, Congress here suddenly broken down and acting as very inactive in Tripura, which brewing the news that 7 Congress MLAs alongwith Barman is all set to join Mamata Banerjee’s TMC soon after ongoing Bengal Assembly Election.

Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee( TPCC) is bound to face its biggest debacle so far as thousands of furious Congress workers led by 7 MLA's will soon leave the party and join Trinamool Congress.

A high level TPCC sources informed TIWN that it is only a matter of time as the All India Trinamool Congress leaders asked the TPCC team to wait till the Assembly Poll of West Bengal gets completed. The decision was taken by a high powered committee of TPCC recently in view of the unholy alliance of Congress with CPI-M for the upcoming assembly poll in West Bengal.

It is learnt that most of the Congress workers in the state are against this so-called ' power hungry alliance' as the political analysts have already predicted that even after this alliance Congress and CPI-Mwill produce a flop show in the West Bengal assembly poll as opinion polls of most of the channels predicted TMC to win more than 200 seats out of the 294 seats in West Bengal.According to TIWN sources , a team of TPCC time and again urged the AICC to refrain from having any poll alliance with the CPI-Min West Bengal as it will give a wrong message to the workers in Tripura as well as West Bengal .

But the AICC is learnt to have denied to give give any assurance on this issue as Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is very much influenced by CPI-M General Secretary Sitaram Yechury.

And even since Yechury took the charge from Prakash Karat , the plot of Congress-CPI-Malliance in West Bengal was produced, express political analysts.

Accordingly , CPI-M and Congress seem to have come to an agreement of seat sharing though officially both CPI-M PolitBuru member cum Left Front Chairman categorically told the media persons in Alimuddin ," There will be no alliance between Congress and CPI-Min the assembly poll. Both the parties will make their campaigns from different platforms . However, to fight against Trinamool we may go on with the strategy of seat sharing ,nothing beyond this ."

And TPCC President Birjit Sinha too is learnt to have been informed by the AICC that in 2018 election in Tripura the same seat sharing policy may be applied between Congress-CPI(M). And Birjit Sinha too is very keen on forming this alliance . This too because of his continuos weakness in his own constituency , from where he won in 2013 in a very poor margin. It is also learnt that Birjit Sinha is getting support from two other MLAs namely Gopal Roy and Ratan Lal Nath.

Considering all these a team of rebel leaders of TPCC led by Leader of Opposition Sudip Roy Barman, MLA Ashis Kumar Saha and Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress President Sushanta Choudhury started negotiating with TMC leadership and towards the end of February these leaders had a meeting with Mukul Roy in Nizam Palace located in AJC Bose Road.

In this 45 minutes long meeting Mukul Roy gave the leaders green signal to start working to split the Congress in Tripura, adds a highly placed TIWN sources in TPCC. However,Mukul Roy told the leaders not to do anything in hurry. At present all the leaders of Trinamool Congress are busy in West Bengal poll. And only after the completion of this poll final decision will be taken. The source also added that Mukul Roy assured the TPCC rebel group that  Trinamool Supremo Mamata Banerjee herself will come to Tripura after the formation of West Bengal Gov't. This may be in mid-June or near by time. At that time Mamata Banerjee will address a mass rally to be organized at Agartala and in that rally all rebel 7 MLAs along with thousands of Congress workers will officially join Trinamool Congress. According to TIWN sources apart from Sudip Roy Barman , Ashis Saha other MLAs include Pranajit Singha Roy, Biswabandhu Sen, Dilip Sarkar, Diba Chandra Hrangkhal and Jitendra Sarkar are in the frame to join TMC. The TPCC leaders told Mukul Roy they will organize a gathering of 25000-30000 people at Agartala to welcome TMC Supremo.

Mamata Banerjee too is keen to make a giant step for Tripura in 2018 assembly poll. To make this happen the rebel group of TPCC even proposed that they will try to form a grand alliance with all anti-CPI-M parties like INPT , IPFT and even BJP to remove the Manik Sarkar & Co from power.

Meanwhile smelling a rat CPI-M leaders too started their home work to prevent the split within Congress. But now as the situation is clear like day light CPI(M)'s Melarmath lobby as instructed by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has been  neogotiating with MLA namely Dilip Sarkar urging him not to join with Sudip Roy Barman & Co. However, till date Dilip Sarkar is with Barman & Co.  If such happens ( which is almost certain ) Congress will only become a aignboard in Tripura.

It is to be laernt that Rahul Gandhi and Sitaram Yechury combination was active in formulating its policy to give safeguard to Manik Sarkar before as well.

During the huge scam related movement when Sudip Roy Barman and his men came out sharply against Manik Sarkar and his team especially giving a big blow to Manik Sarkar's 'clean and white image' it was Sitaram Yechury who approached Rahul Gandhi to stop this movement in Tripura .

And a high level TPCC sources revealed that Rahul Gandhi at that time sent a fax message to Sudip Roy Barman pointing ," Well done but go slow " and all on a sudden Sudip Roy Barman was compelled to stop this anti-Manik campaign.
