Union HRD Minister expressed displeasure for poor Wi-Fi set up at NIT

AGARTALA, April 6 (TIWN) : Expressing displeasure with the Wi-Fi speed at NIT, the Union HRD Minister Dr Ram Shankar Katheria asked the Director of NIT to look after the matter as Education in 21st century is no more dependent upon traditional bookish knowledge.

“Printed books now have been preplaced with E-books and students are collecting data from internet which is however faster than the printed books in anyway”, says Minister.

He further said, it’s very urgent to connect the Wi-Fi with proper cable lines in an technical institution as NIT. He also urged the professors to inspire the students in the field of technology who will make a Digital India with their technical knowledge.

Addressing the students he mentioned, “To become successful means to upgrade ownself both by knowledge and wise-ness”. He further motivated the students to become more faster so that they can compete with the fastest ever generation of 21st century.

It’s to be mentioned here whereas Tripura Govt. is running institutes without proper technology, the central Ministry asked the state to upgrade itself with modern technology. Tripura although have skills and talents but the scope of learning with modern technology is very less here.

After his arrival here in Tripura he inaugurated the newly constructed Golden Jubilee Knowledge Centre at NIT at 10.45 am.

He was also scheduled  to inaugurate the building XI at Tripura University which was constructing since last 2 years. Reportedly, including examination section, many other departments to be started after the building will start.

Ram Shankar Katheria is a member of the 16th Lok Shabha of India. He represents the Agra Constituency of UP and is a member of the BJP political party.He is currently a Minister of State in the  Human Resource Development (Higher Education). Before joining politics, he was a professor of Hindi at the Agra University where he has taught “Dalit Chetna” (Dalit upliftment) and wrote several books on the subject.

Students of Tripura University & NIT both are found however very excited with the Minister’s arrival in their own University.
