AGARTALA, April 6 (TIWN): With the continuous flyover work, traffic congestion is turning massive day by day. Mostly the Bardowali and Battala are hit with the traffic jam during the peak hours. Vehicles cross these parts at snail pace.

Whether it is day or night, every time huge queue of vehicles has been observed moving in snail pace through the construction area. 

Many a time the queue get so long that the vehicle drivers including the passengers has to wait for long time to manage a way out.

Despite of several traffic personnel deployed on road to control the rising traffic congestion in the city no relief has been witnessed yet.

It has become a daily issue that people have to face the traffic jam.

It has been mentioned that till the flyover work continues in the state, people have to face the traffic congestion.

The construction of the flyover over which is going on to curb the traffic congestion and provide relief to people, at present the construction is making the journey tough.

Though alternative route has been identified by the traffic department yet the roads remains clumsy during the office hour.

Apart from the construction work of the fly-over, unruly attitude of CITU leaders is also allegedly responsible for leading to this traffic jam.

Day after day even after strict instruction of the department to commute passengers from the Nagerjala stand, the drivers still continue to load and unload passengers on the main road resulting traffic chaos in the city.

Widened portions of the roads got fully occupied due to clogging on either sides of the road, dumping of the construction material on the road side, has immensely disrupted the smooth movement of traffic at Battala.

However, it is expected that with the completion of the construction work of the flyover the people will get relief from the prolonged traffic congestion.
