AGARTALA, April 6 (TIWN): Aiming to meet the need of the 12 LPG cylinders in a year, IOC has taken initiatives to establish a mega gas bottling plant at Bodhjungnagar.
According to the sources, the land demarcation is completed long back. However, the concern authority is now waiting for the permission from the higher authorities.
It is to be mentioned here that the IOC wants to establish the mega gas bottling plant by next two years. If the plant is operational, it will produce 200 trucks LPG per day.
It seems like with the establishment of the bottling plant at Budhjungnagar, prolonged problem of LPG cooking gas crisis to end soon.
However, once the new gas bottling plant is operational, it will be able to supply refilled LPG cylinder to outside the state also, said sources.
Although Bishalgarh gas bottling plant where 20/22 trucks LPG cylinders per day gets refilled against its installed capacity of 18 bullets, still it fails to meet the need of the people.
Besides, around 13 trucks of LPG cylinders are being imported on daily basis from Silchar to meet the need of the common mass.
Yet it seems like the present numbers of cylinders are not sufficient to meet the need of the people.
However, it is expected that with the commencement of the mega gas bottling plant at Bodhjungnagar may end the prolonged crisis of LPG in the state.
Reportedly, till day with a total number of around 3.24 lakh, the state has 46 LPG outlets.
Yet it fails to meet the need. This initiative may also curb down the prolonged run black marketing business of LPG.
