AGARTALA, April 2 (TIWN) : After the NFR has submitted the DPR with the estimated cost of Rs. 580 crores, for the Indo-Bangla project, state is now waiting for the fund to come.
Reportedly, NFR General Manager Harpal Singh told media that Indo-Bangal railway project is just to begin as the DPR has been submitted by NFR to the central govt and Tripura to get the fund soon.
After the DoNER Minister visited here in Tripura he promised for the Indo-Bangla railway project to be started soon here in Tripura. However, the fund was not cleared as the DPR was not submitted.
It’s to be mentioned here that Union Minister of State for Development of the North-eastern Region (DoNER) Jitendra Singh on March 26 told media that the fund for the Indo-Bangla rail link is already sanctioned but the fund will be released from the Ministry only after submitting the Detailed project report of the work status.
However the total cost of Rs. 580/- croes which was waiting for DPR is now to sanctioned after the submission of DPR.
There will be 15 railway stretches and the 10 km of tracks will be constructed in Bangladesh territory by the ministry of external affairs, targeting to finish the project by 2017.
