AGARTALA, March 23 (TIWN): Tripura and Bangladesh are not merely neighbours, but two different nations with which both the countries share history, culture, civilization, and enduring links between people.

The ideals of democracy, secularism, pluralism and rule of law also serve as a link between India and Bangladesh and the new journey on Internet Bandwidth and supply of 100 MW power has only become possible due to bilateral co-operation between both the countries, said Tripura CM Manik Sarkar on Wednesday in a press meet at secretariat.

Mutual understanding and the give and take policies will boost the India-Bangladesh relations. The give and take policy should continue for further development, added Sarkar after joining the videoconferencing between the prime ministers of India and Bangladesh from their respective capitals.
Second cross border transmission interconnection system between India (Surjyamaninagar) and Bangladesh (South Comilla) and international Bandwidth of 10GBPS from Broadband internet from Bangldesh (Cox’s bazaar) to India (Agartala) to certainly boost the bilateral cooperation between both the countries to a new pinnacle.

Tripura today became a part of such historic moment only due to the cooperation between both the countries, added CM Manik Sarkar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina, along with CM Manik Sarkar on Wednesday inaugurated the supply of 100MW and Internet Bandwidth through videoconferencing from their respective offices in New Delhi, Dhaka and Agartala.

The trade of power from Tripura to Bangladesh will develop the bonding among both the countries. Electricity-starved Bangladesh will get a facelift with the transmission of 100 MW of power from Tripura to meet the energy crisis in the eastern part of the country. Undoubtedly the selling of power to power-starved Bangladesh will be beneficial for Tripura too.

It can be said that as Bangladesh has provided a way to India to transport heavy machineries and turbines through its territories for the giant Palatana power project (726 MW) in southern Tripura, Tripura’s CM Manik Sarkar has keen to the bonding between the countries.
