AGARTALA / DHAKA / NEW DELHI, March 23 (TIWN) : Mentioning about the moment during 1971, when Bangladesh was fighting for freedom, Sheikh Hasina, during the inauguration programme of the power transmission line & broad-band connection, between India and Bangladesh, on Wednesday said that, “Once again India has helped Bangladesh, as the country helped us earlier in our bad timesâ€. “We respectfully remember India’s dedication for Bangladesh and since then the friendship between India & Bangladesh was strongâ€, Hasina added. The friendship is proving fruitful in the field of work too, says PM Bangladesh. Today by inaugurating the power transmission line, between Surjamaninagar in India and South Comilla in Bangladesh, and internet between Cox bazaar in Bangladesh and Agartala in India, the countries have strengthen the relation further, said Hasina. “The power will diminish the crisis of this country, and India’s North eastern states will be benefited by high speed internetâ€, she added.“I’m thankful to the present Prime Minister of Indiaâ€, said Hasina for fulfilling the diplomatic steps and enhancing Indo-Bangla bilateral relations. However, it’s a sad reality that Tripura CM Manik Sarkar unable to utilize this golden opportunity of transforming Tripura as IT hub of NE India.
Bangladesh also said, “The discussion about power transmission with Tripura CM was discussed in 2012, during my visit in Tripura, but in 2016, with the initiative of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this transmission has been succeeded.
