AGARTALA, March 22 (TIWN): Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman on Tuesday on the second day of Tripura assembly budget session asked about the development into the Durjoy Nagar murder case where a trooper killed himself after shooting his female friend on Monday night. Speaking at the budget session, Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman raised question on the issue. However, answering to opposition leader CM Manik Sarkar expressed concern over the tragic incident and further said that detailed investigation will be carried out into the issue. The bullet ridden bodies of a Tripura State Rifles (TSR) jawan and his female friend were recovered from a house in Durjoynagar area of Agartala, police said. Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) Anurag said that after fighting for long hours, the bodies of rifleman of TSR battalion Mrinal Das (29), and Tanusree Karmakar (22), a nurse intern, were recovered from the spot. It is to be mentioned here that he Tripura government on last Friday tabled a Budget of Rs 15,246.52 crore in the state Assembly for the 2016-17 fiscal at Tripura Assembly.

Total receipt of debt is stated to be Rs 1570 crores and the deficit amount was stated to be at Rs188.54 crores.Finance Minister Tapan Chakraborty said that the debt of Rs. 1570 crore would be reportedly covered by reducing non-development expenditures, stepping up resource mobilization to increase the state’s own revenue beside more efficient tax enforcement and effective austerity measures. 

The budget has also revealed that the Budget for the Fiscal year 2016-16 is hiked by 17.34 percent compare to the previous year.

Minister Tapan Chakraborty who has been given the portfolio of Finance Department has this task for the next 5 days and placed the much awaited budget in the Assembly. Reportedly, the budget session began from Friday. It is to be mentioned here that he five-day long budget session is expected to continue till next month.

According to report, on the first day of the budget session the budget for the financial year 2016-2017 was placed.

Few bills including one for raising salary and allowances payable to members of the state Legislative Assembly are likely to be placed in the current session on the other days, a highly placed source in the department of Parliamentary Affairs said earlier.

Accordingly, the Yusuf commission will be disclosed during the budget session as lawyer from government side has appealed to the court that they will publish the Yusuf commission report and action taken report during the budget session.

It appears from the scenario that state government will intentionally keep on dragging the issue in the name of asking time as the report is expected to dig out the hidden facts behind the murder case.
