AGARTALA, March 21 (TIWN): Although the state along with NFR has been claiming that track is all set to roll the train by the end of this month, but sudden collapse of the rail shed has erupted question among the mind of the common people.

Just before the beginning of the service, such incident has erupted question regarding the quality of the work.

Preliminary investigation found poor quality construction materials and building code violations were among the series of irregularities that caused the collapse of the rail shed has left 3 brutally injured.

Poor quality construction material blamed for the sudden collapsed of the rail shed. However, question arises is the entire construction hit with the poor quality products.

Reportedly, in a fatal incident, at least three workers were severely injured after an under construction railway shed got collapsed at Agartala Railway Station. The three injured workers are identified as Girish Reba (23), Ankur Bordoloi (22) and head of the workers- Ranjan Bordoloi (30), all are the resident of Assam.

According to the eye-witnesses allegedly there was no safety belt with the workers and the incident took place due to negligence of concerned authority. Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) allocated huge fund for the implementation of different construction works at Agartala Railway Station, the contractors of different assigned companies are on a race to achieve their target within the stipulated time by implementing poor quality works.

It has been pointed out that the gauge conversion on the route is almost complete. But, most of the works executed related to the gauge conversion are full of anomalies. The sudden collapse of the rail shed has raised question on the procedure of the work.

Chasing behind meeting the dead line of the work, it is alleged that hurry in the construction work has led to this massacre at Agartala railway station.

The materials used are of low quality and substandard. As a specific instance, the recently constructed Dharmanagar railway station building has allegedly developed cracks on the wall, raising question about its sustainability. This, as alleged, has been suppressed but reveals the naked truth. The cracks have been covered up by pasting cement and dark paint on the cracks. This is sufficient telling proof to understand the quality of work of the contractor engaged here.

However, the sources from the Railway authority said that the track is all set to start BG passengers train but nothing can be done before CRS inspection as safety is top most priority.
