Two booked for allegedly running sex racket: East women police conducts investigation

AGARTALA, March 20 (TIWN): East women police on Sunday nabbed two from Dhaleshwar area for running sex racket in a public community area.

Following the allegations raised against two middle aged women for running sex racket has triggered resentment among the people of Dhaleshwar road number 3 are.

Reportedly, on Sunday afternoon the locailites of Dhaleshwar area nabbed two middle aged women after the people raised allegation attacked the women for running sex racket in the area.

Talking to TIWN correspondent, East women police personal said that getting alarm about the incident the police crew reached to the spot and booked the two women under the safety custody until further investigation.  The police personal further said that based on the allegation raised by the people against the women police has conducted raid in the area and nabbed the two.

The police personal further said that, the investigating officer is further interrogating the accused.  It is to be mentioned here that the accused are not local residents and were residing as paying guest at Dhaleshwar.

However, police is further investigating the case.

It is to be mentioned here that earlier acting on the tip-off, raid was conducted on three restaurants- Abba, Samba and Tring. Besides, acting on the complaints of the residence of the area, the police arrested Modan Debbarma, owner of Tring Restaurant, Abhijit Bhattacharjee, owner of Abba Restaurant.

Besides, several questions are raised against the role of the police department. It’s good that the police have conducted a raid against running such illegal activity in public place but arresting all the 34 people who went there to spent some time with their loved ones has irked resentments among the mind of the people.

Allegedly people are also pointing figures towards the step taken by the Additional SP of West Police Station Sarmishta Chakraborty who had played an important role during the drive. Reportedly, people are not against the raid conducted with an aim to curb the illicit trade but the resentment fumes when the Tripura Police dragged the innocent faces to the court.
