AGARTALA, March 17 (TIWN): In another major blow to the state, after 10,323 teachers terminated case, the Tripura HC on Thursday terminated the jobs of 34 Assistant professors appointed in Agartala Government medical college in Tripura. Just before people could recover from the shock of 10,323 teachers terminated jobs, the termination of jobs of 34 Assistant professors under AGMC has triggered resentment among the people. With faults in the recruitment policy of the 34 Assistant professors, appointed in the year 2012 under the notification of Adhoc recruitment from the state government, the Tripura HC on Thursday has terminated the jobs of these 34 Assistant professors appointed in AGMC and hospital since 2012. Justice SC Das on Thursday ordered fresh recruitment in the post as the jobs of the 34 assistant professors were terminated following violations of rules in the recruitments policy and embezzlement in the reservation category into the post. The hearing into the case was completed 15 days back after a writ petition was filed against the recruitment policy by two doctors identified as Asis Debbrma and Monoranjan Debbrma in the year 2012 alleging discrepancy into the recruitment policy of 34 assistant professors appointed in AGMC and hospital.

The order decaled on Thursday also stated that the jobs of the 34 Assistant Doctors are valid June 30 and will be termed invalid fromJuly1. However, court has also fresh recruitment into the post following all the guidelines of recruitment policy and keeping in view the reservation policy too.

The fate of the 34 Assistant professors, whose jobs have been terminated by the High Court verdict of Justice S C Das of High Court, is now left in gloomy future as the jobs are termed invalid and fresh recruitment is ordered into the post.

This is, indeed, a great setback for the Left Front Govt. And this has surely increased pressure on the state govt from all corners but state government is bothered about the future of these 34 persons who have lost their jobs due to violation of rules into the recruitment policy.

No reaction from the state government over the verdict was immediately available.

The Tripura High Court on Thursday terminated services of 34 assistant professors recruited by the state government and asked it to arrange fresh recruitment process into the post.

The Tripura government's recruitment of 10,323 teacher who future is yet at stake as HC has terminated their jobs which had led to a state-wide agitation by a section of unemployed youths and various political parties, including the Congress, Trinamool Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party, with the Left Front government being accused of failure to provide jobs yet another order from HC has sent shock waves across the state.
