KAMALPUR, March 16 (TIWN): A physically challenged youth although got enrolled for the pension schemes, but has not yet got a single penny of his pension in last six years.

Two years ago, the office of the CDPO instructed him to open a bank account of his own. Even after doing that, the result remained same.

And when the youth with his parents contacted with the Salema CDPO today, the officials informed that, the youth had been getting the pension on regular basis for last six years as they used to disburse the same every month. The shameful incident occurred at the Salema ICDS project under this sub-division.

In 2010 last, one physically challenged youth of Noagaon panchayat namely Pintu Kanda, the son of a hardcore CPI-M supporter and worker Mantu Kanda got selected for the ICDS pension scheme for physically challenged persons.

Then her father’s bank account bearing number 1954 with the Tripura State Co-operative Bank, Kamalpur branch was linked for the disbursal. But the physically challenged Pintu not got the pension of even one month. Whenever, they contacted with the CDPO office, they got informed that, the pension got duly disbursed to the account.

Then in 2014, a bank account was opened in the same branch in the name of Pintu bearing number 002712060022570. Still, the youth not got pension. The youth and his father knocked the party leaderships in all those years and got assurances only.

Then today they went to the office of the CDPO of Salema ICDS project. There they remained speechless as the officials informed that, they had been disbursing the pension every month for last six years.

Further, the officials instructed them to file a fresh application in this regard for fresh enrollment of the name.  Now, the hopeless youth and his parents became bewildered enough as where the huge amount got vanished in all those years and why they should apply again.
