AGARTALA, March 16 (TIWN): In a major development, Prakash Karat during his visit in Tripura declared that CPI-M is aligning with Congress at national level for 'political purpose' & 'social welfare'.

The programme held at Rabindra Bhawan on Tuesday, on the occasion of Harkishan Singh Surjeet’s 100 year’s birth anniversary, who was one of the great left front leaders.

“To align with Congress doesn’t mean that CPI-M is forgetting its own policy, but to get rid of all the cast-systems from the country, the party is willing to do that, as Cong. atleast acts more like a democratic party in compare to other racial parties of India", said Karat.

Karat also threw the examples of various suicide incidents held in last few days, where Dalit boys & girls were victimized (due to social cast) and many committed suicide. The finger was indirectly, raised towards BJP & RSS however.

He added, “At West Bengal Trinamool Congress needs to be abolished for the welfare of the state. So before 1 year CPI-M had thought about the aligns of all democratic parties and planned to be got together which will help the party to become strong”.

Karat was addressing the people at RS Bhawan and openly declared that CPI-M wants to be together with all democratic parities, among which he mentioned the name of Congress.

However, 3 causes behind the CPI-M & Congress alliance hav been described by Prakash Karat. These are:

  1. To get rid of exploitation
  2. To wipe out cast system and
  3. To abolish Trinamool Congress from WB.

In this regard Manik Sarkar’s words had double meaning. He, however, spoke more about the CPI-M establishment in India since 1964 and also about Harkishan Singh Surjeet’s dedication for the party.

However, allegations are coming that the programme held by the left front party was just an excuse to expose about the CPI-M & Cong. alliance before the public of Tripura and to save the save image of Left Front party here : as very soon both the parties will be re-united.

However, CM further focused on to blame Indira Gandhi for violating democratic rights of people  & to create fear within them. He also criticized Congress leaders for its long-rule in country and creating problems for CPI-M many times.

CM was appreciating Congress and also pointing their faults--- after all these CM’s speech seems double standard and “cloudy”.

So question arising about what was the difference between thoughts of Prakash Karat & Chief Minister ? Or both of their speeches meant same? Or the CPI-M is suffering from lack of unity at the national level?
