KAMALPUR, March 15 (TIWN): The Science and Rationalist Association of Kamalpur probably received their severest jolt in their course. Even after the conclusion of the Village Committee election, the administration not moved an inch to nab the self-styled Shantikali alias Chaitra Debbarma who instrumented an attack on the activists at Mog Para under Gandacharra police station.

There when the activists tried to unearth the baseless demands of Shantikali of curing people with magical remedies, then some ruffians instrumented attack on the rationalist activists. The police of the Gandacharra police station and the TSR jawans remained standstill. Then somehow the activists got saved from the attacks. The wounded person also filed a case against the so-called god man Shantikali alias Chaitra Debbarma.

Then the Association was assured from the administration as well as the party leadership that, Shantikali would be nabbed by the police and the case would be advanced after the completion of the VC election. Probably due to the excessive gladness and joy derived from this assurance, the Association forgot the notion of impartiality and set Kanhaiya Kumar in the sane row with Davolkar, Kalburgi demanding the release of Kanhaiya. The Association stuck posters in and around the town in this demand.

But at the end of the election, the Association found the administration remained still in their earlier position. The ruling party also seemed indifferent about their promises. And now the Association, which often claimed the CPI-M to be the truest rational party, stuck posters in different parts of the town demanding action against Shantikali. Probably, now, they felt the truthfulness of the age-old saying ‘there’s no permanent friend or foe in politics’. And in the political game plan, the rationalists remained to be mere soldiers and not commanders!
