AGARTALA, March 14 (TIWN): Just before the state could recover from the crisis of petrol, the state is once again hit with diesel crisis. It seems that the state will not get respite from the continoius petrol and diesel crisis in the state.
After experiencing an acute shortage of petrol for the past few days now the people are also facing the shortage of Diesel in the state. This has forced petrol pumps to ration the diesel and as a result hundreds of vehicles were seen in queue in front of petrol pump for refilling their vehicle tanks.
It may be mentioned here that the fuel that comes to the state from Assam has been disrupted due to the crippled condition of National Highway (NH) 44 in Assam section. And the same has hit the stock of petroleum products of the state and by that time demand of petrol and diesel went up drastically among the people. The NH 44 serves as the lifeline for Tripura, Mizoram, southern Assam (known as Barak Valley) and western Manipur.
