AGARTALA, March 13 (TIWN): Demanding to commence medical reimbursement facility for the pensioners, Tripura Gramin Bank Retired Staff Association on Sunday organized a 2nd biennial conference at TB Association hall.
Addressing the programme, the members has mentioned to establish National Rural bank of India as soon as possible, to cancel the RRB Act- 1976 amendment and to provide loan for renovation and repairing to the pensioners of the Tripura Gramin Bank.
Further, they also discussed about the rights of women and their power.
It is to be mentioned here that Tripura Gramin Bank is a Regional Rural Bank established on December 1976 in terms of provisions of Regional Rural Banks Act 1976.
The bank is sponsored by United Bank of India & is jointly owned by the Government of India, Government of Tripura and UBI.
The bank was first established with four branches. Now it has several branches operating in eight districts in the State.
As per July 2015 statistics, out of them 101 branches are in rural areas, 31 are in semi-urban areas and 10 are in urban areas
In 2010, the bank launched its Core Banking Solution. ATM facility has now been extended almost all branches.
Despite various constraints like geographical and infrastructural impediments, Tripura Gramin Bank has been playing a pivotal role for the welfare of the people of the State for last 35 years and has established its firm position and has been enjoying the confidence of the people.
