AGARTALA, March 13 (TIWN): Aiming to discuss about the irregularity in pension under State Government, central committee of the Tripura Home Guard Pension Association on Sunday organized a meeting near Jaganath Bari.
Addressing a press conference, the members mentioned that after several movements the state government has started to provide pension to the home guard pensioners.
The present pension pay is Rs. 750. The members claimed that the State Government do not pay the pension money on time despite of so less money.
Further they mentioned that the amount that they get as pension from the state Government is very less. It is not even enough for a family to run properly.
However, where the State Government can pay the pensions of the other employee on time than why the home guards are deprived of their deprived payment.
Mentioning about the D.R facility for the State Government employee the members said that where the state government can assure D.R for the employees under State Government then why are they deprived of such facility.
Therefore, the association has demanded to start family pension for the home guard pensioners as soon as possible.
Besides, they have also demanded to extend the pension to atleast Rs. 3000 and many other demands have been placed.
Further, they stated that if their demands are not fulfilled then they would be bound to go for mass demonstration.
It is to be mentioned here that day by day the price of the commodities are rising but the State government continues to pay Rs. 750 in the name of pension to the pensioner. These days Rs. 750 is nothing for running a family.
However, the association has demanded to increase the pension and to provide family pension as well.
