AGARTALA, March 13 (TIWN): Keeping eye on the upcoming Tripura High Court Bar election, distribution of nomination papers to commence on March 14.

According to the official reports, the distribution of the nomination papers to continue till March 16.

Besides, the receiving procedure of the nomination paper is expected to start from March 16 and it will continue till March 18.

The nomination papers from the candidates will be received between 10 am to 1:30 pm on the concern day.

Reportedly, scrutiny of the nomination papers is expected to be done on March 18.

However, the concern candidates have to withdraw their nomination paper by March 21.

It is to be mentioned here that the Tripura High Court Bar Election is expected to be held on March 26 from 10 am to 1:30 pm.

For a total of 11 posts the election will be held. Besides, the counting of the votes will begin from 2pm on March 26.

It is to be mentioned here that on reorganization, by operation of the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganisation) Act, 1971 (Act 81 of 1971) when Tripura became a full-fledged State, the High Court of Assam and Nagaland was abolished in terms of Section 28 of the said Reorganisation Act, 1971 and a common High Court came to be established for the five states of Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur and Tripura and two Union Territories (Union Territories of Mizoram and the Union Territories of Arunachal Pradesh).

Later, High Court of Assam and Nagaland was renamed to Guwahati High Court (High Court of Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur and Tripura).

However, Tripura got its bench of the common High Court on 24.01.1972. Those Benches eventually converted to the permanent benches and Tripura got its permanent bench on May 14, 1992 with the approved strength of three permanent Judges by the Presidential declaration made on the same day.
