AGARTALA, MARCH 7 (TIWN): Although authority claims to have taken initiative to put an end to the prolonged petrol crisis in the state but the ground reality says that the state continue to suffer under the acute petrol crisis.

It is to be mentioned here that if the railway track located 1 KM from Dharmagar station is converted to BG to carry petrol goods the oil tankers can easily enter the depot which can reduce the petrol crisis in the state.

However, as the maintenance work of NH44 is not done regularly it has become nearly impossible for the truck to enter in the oil depot on time.  Reportedly state government is hardly taking any initiative to meet the crisis in the state.

Since last many days’ goods had been found rotten on Assam-Agartala road, as vehicles were stranded along the NH-44 highway.

Adding to the sufferings of the people, long queue of people were found waiting with their motorcycles in front of the petrol pump in the vicinity of Agartala, giving rise to large scale black marketing of oil. Meanwhile; petrol crisis has hit the state capital and sub divisional headquarters. Motor cycle users of the city have been facing an unprecedented crisis following the unavailability of fuel in most of the petrol pumps, catering to the requirement of motorists of the city and its surrounding areas.

Most of the motorcyclist had to wait for more than two hours in a queue to refill their vehicles.

Outside in the black market petrol was available at Rs.150 to 200 per liter but that is also adulterated with kerosene. Most of the filling stations have put the board of no petrol but actually there is oil. Owners of vehicles are facing great difficulties in obtaining fuel as the NH is in pathetic condition to cater oil tankers in the state.

Vehicle users of the city have been facing an unprecedented crisis following the unavailability of fuel in most of the petrol pumps, catering to the requirement of motorists of the city and its surrounding areas. All the petrol pumps of Agartala have been witnessing a long queue for getting fuel since morning to late night even many of goes back with empty tanks. Hundreds of vehicles are regularly seen waiting in front of petrol filling station while many centres had hanged the board of No-Petrol. Outside in the black-market petrol is available at Rs. 300 to 350 per litre but that is also adulterated with kerosene, alleged common people.

However, despite of the cute crisis of petrol, government is reluctant to take any action.
