Unidentified period of strike of medical stores: Misery continues for the common people

AGARTALA, March 7 (TIWN): Unidentified period of strike of the 12 government registered medicine store under RSBY scheme yet continues to hit the common mass at the GB Bazaar area.

Families holding cards under RSBY scheme are facing hard time, as are unable to buy medicine.

It is to be mentioned here that altogether 12 Government registered medicine store has called strike on Saturday for unidentified period of time.

According to the sources report, the store owners have called strike after the Government has failed to clear the pending bill for prolonged many years.

Allegation has been raised that Government has not cleared the pending bill for prolonged many years. Therefore, about 12 shops have called for strike and have stopped distribution of medicine under RSBY smart card to the common people from Saturday.

Therefore, the store owner wants their bill to be cleared soon.

It is to be mentioned here that in India one of the major insecurity which has been observed among the labours is the insecurity of frequently falling ill and the matter of hospitalization as it requires huge amount of money for getting admit in to a private hospital and for medicine as well.

Despite the expansion in the health facilities, illness remains one of the most prevalent causes of human deprivation in India.

Therefore, the Central Government has introduced Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana, recognizing the need for providing social security to these workers.

This scheme is run in collaboration of both Centre & State government. Central government contributes 75% of the estimated annual premium i.e. Rs. 565 of total premium amount of Rs. 750 per family per annum and 25% by state government.

The Yojna became fully operational on April 1, 2008 and is active in 25 states of India.

However, the cashless insurance under the RSBY schemes covers up to Rs. 30, 000 per annum for the diseases that requires hospitalization.

However, the unidentified period of strike has massively hits the facilities of the beneficiaries.
