KAMALPUR, Feb 23 (TIWN): The 13th Kamalpur Book Fair scheduled to be held from 16th March next might receive a jolt due to the non-participation of the book sellers this time. And the situation turned so, as the authority gave the complete compensation of 2, 00, 000 rupees for last year’s disaster to the Publisher Guild.
According to the information, the Nagar Panchayat got an amount of 2, 00, 000 rupees for compensating the book sellers and publishers who received heavy loss last year due to the sudden and dreadful tempest in the third evening of the fair.
The amount reached to Nagar Panchayat on the eve of Puja, 2015. After a long delay, the Nagar Panchayat took decision in that matter and gave the complete amount to the publisher guild. As a result, the book sellers got deprived of any kind of compensation. But, the book sellers also received great loss during the incident. And more importantly, the book fair here, got mainly attended by the book sellers.
In this context, the book sellers might boycott the ensuing book fair here this time. And it might make the book fair less attractive.
