AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN): Demanding to provide the required basic amenities to the residence of Shyamapalli under 47 ward of Agartala Municipal Corporation, residence of the area on Friday placed a deputation to executive officer of the Agartala Municipal Corporation.
Reportedly, the locals have been facing trouble due to the scarcity of drinking water facility for prolonged many days but no initiative has been taken by the authority.
Therefore, bound with the situation the residence placed deputation to the executive officer of the Agartala Municipal Corporation.
Besides, they also complained that they are facing huge problem for the excessive mosquito in the area. They also mentioned that the area does not have any drain facility in the area creating problem from the locals.
Besides, the locals are also suffering from lack of garbage dustbin therefore they are bound to dump the garbage on the road side.
It has been mentioned that despite of paying tax, the corporation are not providing all these basic amenities to the locals.
However, the locals have demanded to take immediate action and to provide the required amenities to the area. Locals further claimed that if the corporation cannot provide any facility than they should stop taking tax.
Agartala Municipal Corporation was formed in the year 1871 and is the oldest municipal body in Northeast India.
It is the responsibility of the municipal body to govern and maintains the Agartala city.
However, Agartala Municipal Corporation had a vital role in developing & modernizing the state and managing in its various activities.
