AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN): In the wake of creating another history for the land locked Tripura, preparation is on peak to kick off the goods train service from Assam’s Badarpur to connect Tripura up to Jirania railway on Saturday. The source in the NFR said that Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu is scheduled to flag off the goods trains services from Assam's Badarpur to connect Tripura and Manipur on February 20. As per schedule two goods trains would be flagged off by the Minister for Jirania station in Tripura and Jiribam in Manipur's East Imphal district. NFR has been developing railway infrastructures in ten states including, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Sikkim, parts of West Bengal and Bihar. Almost all the work of track laying is completed and the BG passengers train service will start as soon as possible after clearance from Commission of Railway Safety, mainly known as CRS. However, the inspection will be done before March to smoothly run the BG passengers train in the state in the given deadline.

NFR is all set to conduct the CRS inspection to ensure safety of the track which is newly converted from Metre gauge to Broad gauge.

It is to be mentioned here that the newly converted BG rail track of two sections- Badarpur to Kumarghat and Kumarghat to Agartala would undergo CRS inspection by the end of February or early March, as claimed by the sources.

CRS inspection is one of the quintessential steps to run the BG track. If everything falls in right place, the CRS inspection will be done in February or by early March and running passenger train depends on the reports of CRS inspection. If the CRS gives green signal, the track will be ready for introducing BG passenger train service by March itself.

Now, the NFR authority is carrying out finishing works in two sections- Badarpur to Kumarghat and Kumarghat to Agartala to pave the way for running commercial passenger train service.

Keeping the proposed Railway Budget in mind, the state government has already demanded to introduce super-fast trains connecting Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai with Agartala.

The much awaited dream of Broad-gauge conversion work is going in full swing at various railway tracks of Agartala.

The successful run of the trains on the broad-gauge track will bring sync with those in the rest of the country and Tripura is gearing up for faster connectivity and communication with several parts of the nation.

With the successful run of the railway service between Lumbding and Silchar Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is working hard at much more faster pace to bring Agartala under the country’s Broad Gauge Network by March 2016.
