DHARMANAGAR / AGARTALA, Feb 19 (TIWN) : Issue of rat-cooked Mid-day-meal issue has become a big embarrasment for CPi-M and District Authorities at Dharmanagar, as the ruling CPI-M Govt. seems already decided for not taking any action against the school authority. It was on Tuesday, that the students of North Ganga Nagar Anganwadi Centre were served with cooked rat in their Anganwadi centre following which caused massive protests among the locals. But cunningly, CPI-M govt. and its local Minister Bijita Nath tried to terrorize the angry villagers with the help of the local Panchayat memmbers and attempted to close the matter to save Party's name. Panchayat threatened victim’s family after their “secret-meeting” and saved the culprit cook and negligent school authorities from suspension. When TIWN asked Ministers Tapan Chakraborty and Bijita Nath about the steps taken by Govt. dept., Ministers remained ignorant but the angry Panchayat members warned the Dharmanagar TIWN journalist to close the chapter. The guardians whose children’s plates were filled with the cooked rat’s parts, alleged that from the Panchayat they have been warned not to open their mouths.

It’s to be mentioned here that the CDPO namely Leena Debbarma started arguing when she was talking to TIWN correspondent over phone.

Surprisingly, CDPO highly criticized guardians for letting the media know about this issue.

But the matter could not be compromised with locals so easily, as it was disclosed via media.

As per the rules, in such negligence of duty, no Panchayat can resolve the issue, rather it’s a matter of the Govt. department.

State Govt violated rules and allowed to finish the matter among the Panchayat members, without taking any action against the school authority.

Following this BJP members visited the place and had talk with the locals. It’s to be mentioned here that BJP’s ex-state Presisent Ranajay Deb himself visited that village and met the victim’s family. He told the media that if the authority doesn’t take any action then BJP will come in massive protest.

Talking to BJP State Observer Sunil Deodhar over phone,  he said, “BJP will surely take care of the matter and send the matter to the central govt.’s level”.

However, at the beginning she agreed about the deplorable condition of that Anganwadi centre. She said, that the infrastructure was in bad condition, which needs to be progress. She also accepted that the Panchayat Pradhan & Upa-Pradhan were upset with that family for disclosing the matter.

On Thursday, the govt. officials visited at Dharmanagar, they hired a paid media (Focus Tripura) for their own publicity.

But when TIWN asked CDPO  Leena Debarma about the cause of media publicity of this meeting and why the govt. is too late to take action, she declined to talk anymore and cut the phone. She also declined all the calls which were done after she had disconnected the phone.

On Thursday, the meeting was held between the Panchayat members and govt. officials but outcomes are unknown as Govt goal is to close the lips as soon possible to save CM Mani Sarkar's name.

Among Panchayat members Nripendra Nath & Upa-Pradhan Samar Nath were present. Allegedly, during the meeting it was Nripendra Nath who made such comments against the journalists of Dharmanagar.

Unfortunately for Tripura people, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar doesn't care whether a child is getting raped or children eating rat-cooked mid-day meals.
