AGARTALA, Feb 18 (TIWN): Though several initiatives has been for the commencement of the stretcher service in the flights, yet the booking of stretcher tickets before 48 hours of the flight has raised several problems.

It is to be mentioned here that earlier the common mass of the state has been massively hit with the insufficient number of stretcher facility in the flights as there were only one stretcher facility in Air India.

Though the problem has been solved and the aviation companies has agreed to provide the stretcher facility to the citizens, but if they are being informed 48 hours before.

Now the question arises if any emergency comes up during the 48 hours of duration how will be the patient taken outside the state for better treatment.

It is worthy to mention that in a recent meeting with the Transport Secretary, the private aviation companies Indigo and SpiceJet has agreed to provide stretcher facility to the needy patients to go outside the state as per the guideline issued by the ministry if only they are informed 48 hours before.

Besides, only for once in a day the flights will carry the patients. As only three flights will carry patients which includes Air India, Indigo and SpiceJet daily they can carry only three patients.

Now if the patient who needs emergency treatment is found critical how will the aviation companies adjust?

Locals alleged that if any emergency comes up and patient cannot wait for 48 hours than what will they do.

It is to be mentioned here that there is an instruction to the aviation companies by the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s instruction all aviation companies are bound to carry patients on stretcher.

Allegation has been raised that the aviation companies are taking advantage of the situation as there are no other options for the people of the state of any other aviation facility and suspension of railway serve in the State. As people have only few options to opt for any low range flights.

Besides, the suspension of train service for the Mega Block project, it has raised more problem for the common mass.
