AGARTALA, Feb 17 (TIWN): Tripura High Court on Wednesday lodged suo moto PIL case to Chachu Bazar rape case where the rape victim was not allowed to leave hospital without clearing the bills of ICU whereas as per IPC it is the responsibility of the government to take care of the treatment of the rape victim.Getting aware of the incident the Tripura HC on Wednesday lodged a PIL case under the division bench of chief Justice Deepak Gupta and asked the Law secretary and Health secretary to submit affidavit by March 2 mentioning why the rape victim had to face the threat of the ill behaviour of GB hospital. The court stated that according the rules of IPC it is the responsibility of the state government to take the liability of treatment of the rape victim but it is seen that rather than taking the responsibility of the treatment the rape victim at GB hospital has to face ill behaviour for not clearing the bills of ICU.It is to be mentioned here that State’s referral hospital, GB once again hit the headline due to ill behaviour with a rape victim survivor of Chachu Bazar area in Mohanpur for not clearing the bills of the hospital.Reportedly, the victim was at the hit of the ill behaviour from GB hospital. Although, she was given discharge order from the hospital but was not allowed to leave the hospital as she has not cleared the bills of ICU.

Later after selling a pet of the house her family members cleared a bill of Rs.5, 950 and got her released from the hospital.

It is to be mentioned here that while every Indian was celebrating its Republic day this year, the tribal girl was brutally raped in its North Eastern state of Tripura. On that evening the girl was returning home with her brother when two accused SudhirDebbarma and Athens Debbarma attacked them in Chachu Bazar area in Mohanpur.

After locking the brother in one room, the accused tied the girl to a mobile tower and raped her. Shocked and ashamed by the incidence, the victim duo consumed poison and tried to commit suicide. They were later admitted in the government hospital in critical condition.  The accused are absconding and the police or the government is not keen in tracing the accused that are booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
