KALYANPUR (Khowai), Feb 17 (TIWN) : Tripura is frequently suffering from LPG crisis and everyday long queues can be spotted before the all LPG dealer centres.

As a result common people have to suffer a lot, when their cooking gas comes to an end at their households.

Maximum times they have to depend upon the cylinders which are selling at various local shops in high price, whereas the shop-keepers do not have any license to sell them.

But ‘crisis’ of LPG and the ‘black marketing’ have become rampant here in Tripura.

Reportedly, at Khowai Dist. people are bound to buy cylinders at the rate of atleast Rs.1,200-1,500/- As a result resentment has been brewing among the locals at there.

According to the reports, black marketing of LPG gas has been widespread at Kalyanpur area, under Khowai Dist. But authority has no concern about the rapid black marketing at there. Although locals complained to the authority many times, but no step has been taken to control the situation.

As a result, illegal business of LPG is pursuing in full swing at Kalyanpur.

Reportedly, many time the locals of Khowai has went the SDM and DM office and requested to solve the matter, as the price of cooking gas was getting sky-touchin, ( in black market).

From Khowai Dist. the gas is distributed among all the places of that Dist.

At Kalyanpur, via Choudhury gas agency, all the cylinders are distributed. Allegations are coming that although gas comes in sufficient numbers, but willingly, they create a crisis-situation at there. Irregular gas distribution has turned the life of the people of Khowai into misery.

Before 2-3 months, nobody gets the gas cylinder for households.

Food Dept. has turned its blind eyes from the issue. Moreover, the gas which are supplied via black-markets, cheats the mass easily by providing  less amount of gas within the cylinder. Locals have alleged that they will come in mass protest and block road if steps are not taken by the Food Dept. as soon as.
