AGARTALA, Feb 16 (TIWN): In yet another gruesome incident, a 28 years housewife has been murdered at Dharmanagar by her husband and mother in law. The accused Shankar Nama(Victim's husband) has been produced before the court on Tuesday. The two accused not only killed the housewife, but after killing her they feed poisons to the twin daughters of the couple. However, the children saved from death and presently are under the care of Dharmanagar hospital doctors. Police has arrested the husband, whereas the mother-in-law of the victim is absconding. Shankar Nama has sent for 14 days JC. The case was registered under section 498(A) IPC 306 against Shankar Nama & his mother Laxmi Nama. According to the reports, FIR has been lodged on Tuesday, but the main incident took place on Monday evening. The victim has been identified as Purnima Nama(28), W/O-Shankar Nama. Reportedly, before 2 years, Shankar Nama, the resident of Yuvaraj Nagar was married to Purnima Nama, of Natun Bazar, Dharmanagar. But after few days of marriage Purnima’s husband and mother in law started to torture her for dowry. Presently, they have 2 daughters (14 months).
But it was on Monday evening that Purnima was brutally tortured by her husband Shankar Nama & Mother in law Laxmi Nama.
When she tried to protest, Shankar Nama & Laxmi Nama forcefully feed her with poison. They didn’t stop there, they also poisoned her 14 moth’s innocent children namely Parishmita Nama & Paramita Nama. Both of them were Twins.
After doing this act, they called upon Punima’s parents and told them in phone that Purnima had poisoed own self and also poisoned her children. Same was informed to the neighbours.
However, neighbours already knew about the fact that Purnima was continuously tortured by her husband & mother-in-law. So, they immediately took the victims to the Panisagar Hospital. But doctor declared Purnima as death but they saved her daughters.
Post-mortem was done at Panisagar Hospital on Monday night. The accused Shankar Nama has been sent for 14 days jail custody on Tuesday.
