AGARTALA, Feb 12 (TIWN): Day by day with the progress of the flyover construction work from Dropgate to Fire brigade Chowmuhani, the commuters are facing huge traffic congestion every time.

Reportedly, mostly during the office going hour and office leaving hour huge traffic congestion has been observed in the Battala junction and at the Bardowali area.

Commuters had to wait for long time to reach the destination. Besides, the bumpy jumpy condition has become a regular headache for the drivers.

Due to this bumpy jumpy route the vehicles are getting mechanical problems but the drivers are left with no other option accept taking the same bumpy jumpy road.

Once fly over is constructed, vehicles from the Nagerjala bus stand will continue to ply on the same path which is expected to reduced the traffic congestion.

The first ever 2-lane flyover in the capital city will lower the traffic jam by at least 40% to 45% and it will make a smooth fast track movement of the vehicles but the period of the construction is creating havoc.

The main motive of creating the flyover bridge is to seek solution to hectic traffic jam at Battala. As day by day the population and the number of vehicles are increasing, the problem is arising in traffic system too.

Following the unlawful condition of the roads resentment is brewing among those people who take the route through Battala. Some of the pedestrians raised a complaint but until and unless the flyover construction gets over nothing can be done.

Besides, three substitute routes are identified the people can take those routes to avoid traffic jam.

Public has been suffering immensely day after day and it is expected that it will continue until the flyover work gets over.

However, driving through this route has merely become impossible.  Irregular parking of vehicles, commuting passengers from any spot of the road, parking of the school vehicles at odd spots leads to the traffic jam.

However, construction of underground foundation of pillar is underway.

With the ongoing days, the construction of the flyover work is underway in full swing from Battala to Drop gate area with the aim to complete the entire work by 30 months as fixed by the Tripura government.

With the progress of the flyover construction work the traffic congestion is expected to increase.
