AGARTALA, Feb 8 (TIWN) : Book publishing has been kicked off fully in Tripura as the highest book fair will be held just after 5 days. Everyday there remains book-publishing programmes and writers are launching their books for the upcoming 34th book fair.
Reportedly, on Monday, in Tulsi Publishing House has published in total 17 books at Agartala Press Club. During the programme MLA Pabitra Kar, Mayor Parishad Samar Chakraborty were present.
During the press meet Pabitra Kar said, “In comparison with earlier time, book readers have been decreased in number, which would not be”. He also said, “Such book-publishing events are really appreciable and motivates reader section of people to know about various aspects from the knowledge-world”.
It’s to be mentioned here that the 34th annual Agartala Book Fair- 2016 has been scheduled to organize on February 13 at premises Umakanta Academy.Reportedly, the 12 days long fair will be continuing till 24 February 2016.
The fair will start from 3 pm in the afternoon and will continue till 8 pm in the evening. On the off days, the fair stalls will be opened at 2 pm in the afternoon and will continue till 8.30 pm in the evening.
This year around 119 stalls will be opened in the fair. Along with the Tripura publishers, different publishers of Bangladesh, Delhi, Kolkata and Guwahati will be invited to attend the Agartala Book fair.
With aim to accomplish the fair successfully, under the Chairman ship of the Information and Cultural Affairs Bhanu Lal Saha a preparatory committee has been organized.
Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sahid Choudhury has been made the Vice Chairman, Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly Pabitra Kar, Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dr. Prafullajit Sinha and others are the member of the committee.
However, during the fair events like seminars, conference of poets, dramas, recitation and musical programmes will also be organized.
